Frequently Asked Questions

What tolerances can LayerFlex hold?
We hold tolerances to ±0.0005" on CNC machined parts.

Do you do Swiss screw machining?
Yes. Our Tsugami BS26-III Swiss-type lathe with live tooling runs bar stock up to 1" diameter from a 12 ft bar loader. It is suited to small, precise turned parts in volume.

What is the largest part you can turn?
Our Mori Seiki SL-25 turns parts up to 10" in diameter and 24" long.

Do you machine plastics?
Yes. We machine Delrin, nylon, Teflon, ABS, PVC, polycarbonate, PEEK and other plastics, often for prototypes before a part moves to injection molding.

What are your lead times?
Depending on the size and scope of the project, anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.
